Creepy

We like to plant LOTS of tomatoes because we really like tomatoes, and because we also like to share. You know, with, like, neighbors and friends. We didn't have this in mind:
These things were huge and they were eating my tomatoes! After we found about 4 of them, and their giant poop, I was pretty creeped out. Fortunately, after googling "disgusting tomato caterpillars" I found out that they would not devour me and my children, and that to get rid of them I simply had to cut off their horn until green blood comes out and throw them out for the birds. Or stomp on them. Or cut them in half. Or drown them in water. Ok, very creeped out. Definitely something for the strong man of the house. When Byron came home, he and the boys pried them off the plants, took them far into the backyard snipped them in half with trimming clippers, oohing and ahhing over the green oozing blood, and threw them in the garbage. We haven't found any more but I still feel totally violated. Hungry?

Can you send us some of those yummy tomatoes?!? I am glad we didn't find any of those on our tomatoes! I agree with you - totally grossed out!

Michelle, that is the grossest thing I have seen in a while! I would feel really violated, too! I bet your boys loved killing them with Byron-- my boys would have loved the green blood. Makes you wonder what God was thinking about (you know, what is their purpose) the day He invented those little guys. Weird.

YUCK!!! I am sure the boys loved those things. Hopefully when you are enjoying those tomato's you can forget about the nasty green creepy crawlie bugs that slithered and pooped all over them.

No that is pretty sick! I can't believe how big those things are! They are like 1/8 of the size of the snake I killed! Just teasing you...that is gross, especially when they are on your tomatoes! So rude.

Ok...gross!! I'm such a freak I don't think I could eat the tomatoes after that!! I'm sure they're fine it's just my "freakish" side coming out!!

I hope all is well!!

Nasty! I'm glad we got the full story from you "in person" over the computer. They really do look sick and those poops were full-on enormous. How did your TIMW book club discussion go. Did they love it as much as we do??

That's enough to make you not want to plant lovely tomatoes anymore. I think I may take those creatures over scorpions or black widows though. :)

Holy cow. Those suckers are huge. I would be sad if they at my tomatoes, too. I love home grown tomatoes.
