A Little Preoccupied

So we've gotten quite a bit of flack for dropping off the face of the blogging world. I do very much apologize, but come on, we've been a bit busy around here....
That's right, I've been dang busy growing teeny tiny eyebrows and toe nails and ear lobes and bunzies, not to mention all those vital organs! And while I was busy doing all this growing (on the couch and in bed...) Byron was busy taking care of the house and kids and crazy life in general with a family of four kids, oh yeah, and working full time at his new job, which he loves by the way. I think he has had the harder job, but mine still seems to make me more tired.

BUT, now that I am 17 weeks along and feeling much more like a normal, regular tired busy mom, life is seeming more managable and the prospect of a new baby is getting very exciting. I have been a bit freaked out by the thought of FIVE kids, FIVE KIDS!, especially with a three year old and a two year old thrown in the mix. Woah! One night a number of weeks ago, when I was feeling lousy and the day had been particularly hectic and kids had been exceptional nightmares, I was scared. I said to Byron, "Who are we kidding throwing a newborn into the mix of this life??? It's going to be insane!!!" Byron, being the typical Byron, came to my rescue without really meaning to. He said simply, but with complete sincerity, "It's going to be perfect." I so needed him to have this attitude. Yes it is going to be absolutely insane, but it is what we WANT. There is no better insanity, no better true joy that will come from having another baby to love and care for and teach and cherish. Yes, I am terrified, but I am learning to adopt Byron's attitude. I am a slow learner.....

We get to find out the gender in a few weeks. We are trying to THINK PINK!!!

By the way, I am too lazy to scan the real ultrasound pictures we got at 12 weeks, this one was stolen from the internet. Our baby was WAY cuter....

Congratulations! My sister-in-law told me to keep wearing pink at the beginning of my pregnancy so it would rub off and I would have a girl. It worked! We have missed your family so much in Ann Arbor, but I'm so happy you guys are doing great! Go Pink!

Congratulations!!! I don't know how you do it pregnant with four kids, what a blessing to have such a supportive husband! We also think it is hilarious that you posted a picture from the internet!! I am sure your baby is so very cute. Can't wait to see you guys at Thanksgiving!

Congratulations on #5! Things will be hectic but like Byron said...it will be perfect.

OH MY GOSH!! A post!!! A new post!! I've been dying for a new post - heck, for that matter any sort of communication with you. It's been way too long since we've had any.

Enough about that. Yea!! The post about the new baby! I've been waiting for that too. Sooo exciting. And scary. I'm impressed about your new "insane is okay" attitude. I'm so glad that our husbands are way more level-headed and grounded than we are. They keep us from going crazy, I think.

I can't wait to find out what it is. Mom told me the ultrasound lady says girl and she's usually right. Oh, I stole the utltrasound pic I used for blog my announcement from the internet too. :)

Forgot to say that I LOVE the new updated pictures of the kids. They look great. So big and so much older than even just six months ago.

If anyone can take on five kids and do it gracefully, that would be you guys. I'm so excited for you and your family...

You lucky ducks! And the world is lucky too. It can only be a good thing to have another Garn baby. No wonder I've been feeling like I should call you! Congratulations!

Yay, Garns!! That is so exciting! If it makes you feel any better, I think I have many more of the "What was I THINKING?!" thoughts than the "It's going to be perfect" ones until much later, like when baby is born. This last time especially, with number four, when I actually considered selling him to a good home.

Pink. Will definitely think Pink. But whatever it will be"perfect" as Byron said, and will so blessed to be in such a wonderful family that you are. Hey, good job on the internet pic...good choice. ha. Congrats again.

Cute pics by the way - of everyone!

Jake was sooo happy that he knew about this before I did. He came home and told me last night that someone in my fam was prego. He made me guess until I got it! Congrats! Five kids! That's awesome. You guys are such good parents and good examples to me. You'll do great. We miss you guys and can't wait to see you around Thanksgiving. BTW What's with all of amy's duplicate comments? Your kids pictures are very cute, but I think she is trying to be the favorite sister or something.

Yeah! The world will be a better place with another Garn around! Grant just asked why everyone is having a baby except for us! I love that kids love kids!

Glad that everything is settling down and things are good for Byron at work!

Miss you!

What EXCITING news! I totally understand the desire for more estrogen in the house :0) But boys are pretty darn great too! Here's to hoping that you'll have lots of energy and a healthy little one... I know you're hoping for pink but blue is a good color with those beautiful blue eyes your kids have! Congrats!!!

I am so excited for you guys! We really miss you guys. Any time I ask anna who she played with at play dates, or nursery she says "not lucy, cause lucy moved...that is so sad"

Congrats, Michelle! I too felt like I had dropped off the face of the earth but was really stuck laying down due to awful morning (and we should add afternoon, evening, and nighttime) sickness. Sounds like we are due about the same time...mid-April? Hope you get the pink you desire and that you are feeling better as you settle into your new AZ life. Enjoy your Turkey Day!
